Walleye Boat Rebuild Part 14: Project Boat Finale

More than a year of work taught me a lot and allowed me to make a 20-year-old boat as good as it was in the showroom.

Walleye Boat Rebuild Part 14: Project Boat Finale

People can end up with a project boat for so many reasons. For some it might be budget, neglect or maybe it’s trying to make a hand-me-down usable again. Regardless of the reason these types of projects can be overwhelming if you don’t have a plan. The best advice I can give you is to thoroughly go over the boat before you buy or start the rehab to know what you are getting into and make a plan for what needs to be fixed, then determine what you want to take on yourself and what needs to be hired out. A lot of information is readily available online to help you through even the toughest steps.

More than a year of work on my project boat taught me a lot and allowed me to take a 20-year-old boat and make it as good or better than when it was in the showroom. Much like fixing up an old house, allow for way more time and budget than you may think, and enjoy the process.

Here is the final video of our yearlong project boat restoration that we covered in 13 parts (below).
